NBSC Joins 2025 PAEPI International Extension Congress in Siargao Island
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) marked another milestone in its commitment to community engagement and development by participating in the 2025 PAEPI International Extension Congress (IEC) held from June 10โ13, 2025, at the Provincial Convention Center, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.
With the theme โEmbracing Science and Technology-Driven Extension Platforms for Sustainable and Inclusive Communities,โ the congress brought together extension professionals and academic institutions from across the ASEAN region to explore innovative, evidence-based practices in community service delivery.
NBSCโs delegation was led by Mr. Alven L. Gomez, Director of the Community Extension and Services Division (CESD). He was joined by esteemed project leaders, including Mr. Julius S. Gabinete (Financial Literacy Project), Mr. Melven I. Valmoria (NATURESโSagip Sapa Project), and Ms. Maria Michaela Q. Jamora (Local Youth Development Project). The team attended sessions aligned with their thematic areas, engaged in knowledge exchange, and benchmarked best practices from other participating colleges and universities.
NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D, CESE, personally endorsed the delegationโs participation, highlighting her strong support for extension work as a core priority of the college. Under her leadership, NBSC continues to position itself as a proactive institution promoting sustainable, inclusive, and community-based development initiatives.
The PAEPI IEC 2025 featured plenary talks from international experts, paper and poster presentations, and workshops that provided meaningful insights into agriculture, health, education, ICT, and entrepreneurship. The congress served as an essential platform for NBSC to strengthen its network, advance its extension capabilities, and amplify its role in community transformation.
